"Koyomi Gonomi" is a story that anthropomorphizes the calendar, including New Year's Day and New Year's Eve. In the past, at the end of the year in Japan, Omisoka and New Year's Day would descend into the human world and set the "gears of time" in motion, allowing people to feel the passage of the year.
