Shanghai, 1920. Amidst the unstable situation, Shion, a student engrossed in reading the newspaper, is approached by a woman. Her name is Shuliang. A military wife, she asks the cultured Shion to write a letter for her. As their words exchange, the two are drawn to each other, even as they clash at times.
